  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to the town of Thomson; authorizing the 
  1.3             establishment of a detached facility. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TOWN OF THOMSON; DETACHED BANKING FACILITY.] 
  1.6      With the prior approval of the commissioner of commerce, a 
  1.7   bank operating its main office within ten miles of the town of 
  1.8   Thomson may establish and maintain not more than one detached 
  1.9   facility in the town of Thomson.  A bank desiring to establish a 
  1.10  detached facility must follow the approval procedure prescribed 
  1.11  in Minnesota Statutes, section 47.54.  The establishment of a 
  1.12  detached facility pursuant to this section is subject to the 
  1.13  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, sections 47.51 to 47.57, 
  1.14  except to the extent those sections are inconsistent with this 
  1.15  section. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.17     Section 1 takes effect the day after compliance by the town 
  1.18  board of the town of Thomson with Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.19  645.021, subdivision 3.
