relating to natural resources; requiring rulemaking to allow mechanical control
of narrow-leaved cattail without an aquatic plant management permit.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin The commissioner of natural resources shall amend Minnesota Rules, part
6280.0250, subpart 1, item E, to allow mechanical control of narrow-leaved cattail (Typha
angustifolia) without an aquatic plant management permit. The commissioner may use the
good cause exemption under Minnesota Statutes, section 14.388, subdivision 1, clause (3),
to adopt the rule under this section, and Minnesota Statutes, section 14.386, does not apply
except as provided under Minnesota Statutes, section 14.388.
