  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; appropriating money for 
  1.3             community support services for deaf and 
  1.4             hard-of-hearing adults. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $100,000 is annually appropriated from the general fund to 
  1.8   the commissioner of human services for a grant to a nonprofit 
  1.9   agency that serves deaf and hard-of-hearing adults with mental 
  1.10  illness through residential programs and supported housing 
  1.11  outreach activities.  The grant must be used to expand community 
  1.12  support services for deaf and hard-of-hearing adults with mental 
  1.13  illness who use or wish to use sign language as their primary 
  1.14  means of communication.
