1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to health occupations and professions; board 1.3 of psychology; eliminating the written declaration of 1.4 intent filing requirement for persons with a master's 1.5 degree who are seeking licensure as a licensed 1.6 psychologist; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, 1.7 section 148.921, subdivision 2. 1.8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.9 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 148.921, 1.10 subdivision 2, is amended to read: 1.11 Subd. 2. [PERSONS PREVIOUSLY QUALIFIED.] (a) The board 1.12 shall grant a license for a licensed psychologist to a person 1.13 who: 1.14 (1) before November 1, 1991, entered a graduate program 1.15 granting a master's degree with a major in psychology at an 1.16 educational institution meeting the standards the board has 1.17 established by rule and earned a master's degree or a master's 1.18 equivalent in a doctoral program; 1.19(2) before December 31, 1993, filed with the board a1.20written declaration of intent to seek licensure under this1.21subdivision;1.22(3)(2) complied with all requirements of section 148.91, 1.23 subdivisions 2 to 4, before December 31, 1997; and 1.24(4)(3) completed at least two full years or their 1.25 equivalent of post-master's supervised psychological employment, 1.26 including predoctoral internship, before December 31, 1998. 2.1 (b) Notwithstanding paragraph (a), the board shall not 2.2 grant a license for a licensed psychologist under this 2.3 subdivisionto a person who files a written declaration of2.4licensure after October 31, 1992,unless the applicant 2.5 demonstrates that the applicant was a resident of Minnesota on 2.6 October 31, 1992, and meets allotherthe requirements for 2.7 licensure under this subdivision.
