  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; requiring the county screening 
  1.3             board to add certain highway mileage in the city of 
  1.4             Osseo to county state-aid highway system; requiring 
  1.5             the commissioner of transportation to grant variance; 
  1.6             requiring local approval. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [ADDITION TO COUNTY STATE-AID HIGHWAY SYSTEM.] 
  1.9      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 162.02, 
  1.10  subdivision 3a, and after the city of Osseo approves of the 
  1.11  establishment of the county state-aid highway under Minnesota 
  1.12  Statutes, section 162.02, subdivision 7, the county screening 
  1.13  board created under Minnesota Statutes, section 162.07, 
  1.14  subdivision 5, must add to the Hennepin county state-aid highway 
  1.15  system the following highway, located in the city of Osseo: 
  1.16  Central Avenue between County Road 81 and County Road 30, and 
  1.17  Jefferson Highway between County Road 81 and the southern limits 
  1.18  of the city of Osseo.  Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.19  section 162.02, subdivision 3a, the commissioner of 
  1.20  transportation shall grant a variance from rules and engineering 
  1.21  standards developed under Minnesota Statutes, section 162.07, 
  1.22  subdivision 2, with respect to this highway. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.24     Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of 
  1.25  the city of Osseo complies with Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.26  645.021, subdivision 3.
