  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; continuing funding for a free 
  1.3             breakfast program; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.] The sums 
  1.7   indicated in this section are appropriated from the general fund 
  1.8   to the commissioner of education for the fiscal years designated.
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [FREE BREAKFAST GRANTS.] For grants for free 
  1.10  breakfasts to elementary school children according to Laws 1994, 
  1.11  chapter 647, article 8, section 35, in fiscal year 1996: 
  1.12       $167,000     .....     1996
  1.13     These grants must be made to the same schools that received 
  1.14  grants in fiscal year 1995.  Schools that receive grants must 
  1.15  continue the free breakfast program in fiscal year 1996. 
  1.16     Up to $18,000 of this amount is available to continue the 
  1.17  evaluation required in Laws 1994, chapter 647, article 8, 
  1.18  section 35, subdivision 5.
