A bill for an act
relating to education; directing the state of Minnesota to stop implementing
the No Child Left Behind Act.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin REFUSING TO IMPLEMENT THE NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT.

new text begin The commissioner of education must nullify and revoke on June 1, 2009, the
consolidated state plan that the state of Minnesota submitted to the federal Department
of Education on implementing the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 in Minnesota, and
any other Minnesota state contract or agreement entered into under a provision of the No
Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
