  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing a debt equalization 
  1.3             determination for independent school district No. 233, 
  1.4             Preston-Fountain, and independent school district No. 
  1.5             228, Harmony. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [DEBT EQUALIZATION DETERMINATION.] 
  1.8      Notwithstanding the plan adopted by independent school 
  1.9   district No. 233, Preston-Fountain, and independent school 
  1.10  district No. 228, Harmony, according to Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.11  section 122.242, subdivision 9, beginning with the first year of 
  1.12  the combination and thereafter, the department of education 
  1.13  shall determine debt service equalization aid according to 
  1.14  Minnesota Statutes, section 124.95, as though preexisting debt 
  1.15  remained the responsibility of the preexisting school districts. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
