A bill for an act
relating to education; modifying requirements for teacher compensation; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2022, sections 122A.40, by adding a subdivision; 122A.41,
by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 122A.40, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, a
school district may consider a teacher's attainment of an advanced degree or completion of
graduate credits from an accredited postsecondary institution, but may not consider whether
the degree or credits were earned at a private or online university.

new text begin This section is effective July 1, 2024.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 122A.41, is amended by adding a subdivision to
read:
