A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a regional wastewater
collection system in Itasca County; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Appropriation. new text end

new text begin $5,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
to the Public Facilities Authority for a grant to the Lone Pine Township to design, construct,
and equip connections from onsite sewage collection systems in Lone Pine Township in
the Swan Lake area to the wastewater treatment facility in Nashwauk. This project includes
capital improvements to the Nashwauk treatment facility to accommodate flow from the
Swan Lake area, new lift stations and a force main to convey wastewater from Swan Lake
to the wastewater treatment facility in Nashwauk, and a low-pressure collection system
around Swan Lake for Lone Pine Township to transmit wastewater through the new Swan
Lake lift station. This appropriation also includes money for improvements necessary to
connect the cities of Marble and Calumet to the system.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
the state in an amount up to $5,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
