A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money for a mental health
pharmacogenomics pilot program grant.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; MENTAL HEALTH PHARMACOGENOMICS
PILOT PROGRAM GRANT.

new text begin $5,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of human services for a grant to an organization or entity with expertise in pharmacogenomic
products and research to conduct a mental health pharmacogenomics pilot program. The
grant recipient must use grant funds to conduct genetic testing and mapping to ensure
medication safety and correct dosage and improve medication efficacy and clinical outcomes
for individuals who are enrolled in Minnesota public health care programs and receiving
treatment for mental health conditions. The grant recipient must also provide dynamic
reporting with a clinical decision support tool. Grant applicants must submit an application
on a form and in the manner specified by the commissioner of human services by the deadline
established by the commissioner. This is a onetime appropriation.
