A bill for an act
 relating to motor vehicles; establishing a temporary moratorium on certain motor
vehicle inspections.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin SALVAGE VEHICLE INSPECTION TEMPORARY MORATORIUM.

new text begin (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 168A.152, subdivisions 1, paragraph
(b), and 2, the commissioner of public safety must not require a vehicle inspection or a
certificate of inspection for the issuance of a certificate of title that bears a "prior salvage"
brand.

new text begin (b) This section applies to applications for a certificate of title submitted on or after
October 1, 2024, and before October 1, 2025.
