A bill for an act
 relating to natural resources; requiring an open season for moose during any year
in which there is an open season for elk; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022,
section 97B.515, subdivision 2.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 97B.515, subdivision 2, is amended to read:


Subd. 2.

Season and restrictions.

The commissioner may, by rule, prescribe the open
season and the areas and conditions for deleted text begin thedeleted text end taking deleted text begin ofdeleted text end elk when the precalving population
exceeds 20 animalsnew text begin , but must not prescribe an open season under this subdivision for any
year in which the commissioner does not prescribe an open season for moose under section
97B.505new text end .
