A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money to the Somali Museum for a
new facility in South Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SOMALI MUSEUM.

new text begin $12,700,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the Somali Museum, a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization, for project management and development and to predesign, design,
construct, furnish, and equip a new museum of Somali relics and artifacts, Somali cultural
history, and education in Minneapolis. This appropriation is available until the project is
completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642. This is a onetime
appropriation.
