A bill for an act
 relating to Hennepin County; requiring a majority vote to approve budget; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 383B.908, subdivision 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 383B.908, subdivision 5, is amended to read:


Subd. 5.

Financial oversight.

The county board shall approvenew text begin , by majority vote,new text end the
annual budget of the corporation and receive an annual audited financial statement. The
annual budget shall address how efficiencies and revenues contribute to stabilize or reduce
county liabilities for indigent care. The county board shall also retain the right to conduct
an independent audit of the finances of the corporation.
