A bill for an act
relating to state government; adopting a new design for the state flag and Great
Seal; amending Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, sections 1.135, subdivision
3a; 1.141, subdivision 1.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 1.135, subdivision 3a, is amended
to read:

Official seal; May 11, 2024, and thereafter.

Sec. 2.
Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 1.141, subdivision 1, is amended to
read:
Subdivision 1.
Adoption.
The design of the state flag deleted text begin as certified in the report of the
State Emblems Redesign Commission, as established by Laws 2023, chapter 62, article 2,
section 118,deleted text end new text begin is the Great Seal as described in section 1.135, centered on a background of
the same blue as the background in the official state flag prior to May 11, 2024, andnew text end is
adopted as the official state flag.
