relating to education; providing funding for summer programming for American
Indian youth.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Extended time revenue. new text end

new text begin On June 30, 2008, special school district
No. 1, Minneapolis, must transfer $....... from its extended time revenue to NAWAYEE
Center School as fiscal agent for the Indigenous Earthkeepers Program for American
Indian youth environmental education and training. Funds must be used to provide
summer programming for up to 80 American Indian children ages 14 to 18 for up to eight
weeks. The Indigenous Earthkeepers Program curriculum must include water studies,
waterway cleanup, plant identification, and indigenous language components.
