  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to community education; appropriating money 
  1.3             for the Eritrean community center of Minnesota. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [ERITREAN COMMUNITY CENTER OF MINNESOTA; 
  1.6   APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $200,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2001 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for a grant to the Eritrean community center of 
  1.10  Minnesota for the predesign of a community center that would 
  1.11  provide the following services:  Tigrina and English as second 
  1.12  languages, academic tutorial services, cultural entertainment, 
  1.13  sports entertainment activities, and youth and family 
  1.14  counseling.  The appropriation is available when the 
  1.15  commissioner determines that an equal amount has been committed 
  1.16  from nonstate sources.
