  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to real estate; continuing a certain 
  1.3             exemption on a certain land exchange. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [EXEMPT ACREAGE IN LAND EXCHANGE.] 
  1.6      The city of Bird Island may exchange a parcel of its land 
  1.7   for a parcel that is exempt under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.8   500.221.  Since the owner of the exempt parcel that is to be 
  1.9   transferred to the city, will lose that parcel's exemption, the 
  1.10  parcel that it is to receive in exchange up to the same acreage 
  1.11  as the exempt parcel given in exchange, is exempt, 
  1.12  notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 500.221.  The 
  1.13  exemption applies under this act for all purposes that the 
  1.14  exemption applies on the land given up to the city, and the 
  1.15  deeds involved in the transaction may so state.
