  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to commerce; eliminating retroactive 
  1.3             exemption from the franchise law of agreements between 
  1.4             air carriers; amending Laws 1997, chapter 222, section 
  1.5             61. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1997, chapter 222, section 61, is amended 
  1.8   to read: 
  1.9      Sec. 61.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.10     Section 32, paragraph (h), is effective the day following 
  1.11  final enactment and shall apply to all agreements or 
  1.12  arrangements regardless of the date they were entered into or 
  1.13  renewed on or after that date. 
  1.14     Sections 4, 6, 7, 42, 43, 46, 48, and 57 are effective the 
  1.15  day following final enactment. 
  1.16     Sections 53 and 54 are effective the day following final 
  1.17  enactment and apply to causes of action arising from incidents 
  1.18  occurring on or after that date. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     This act is effective retroactively to May 31, 1997.
