A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a grant to the Oromo
Community of Minnesota for a community center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin OROMO COMMUNITY OF MINNESOTA; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the Oromo Community of
Minnesota to renovate, furnish, and equip a community center to create a gathering place
for Oromo youth, seniors, and families to connect with their Oromo culture, identity, and
history. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until the project is completed or
abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
