  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to metropolitan government; requiring the 
  1.3             metropolitan airports commission to submit proposed 
  1.4             budgets to legislative committees; amending Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes 2000, section 473.661, by adding a 
  1.6             subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 473.661, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 5.  [BUDGET REVIEW.] At least 90 days before the 
  1.11  metropolitan airports commission adopts a proposed annual 
  1.12  operating budget or capital budget, the commission must submit 
  1.13  the proposed budget to the chairs of the senate finance 
  1.14  committee and the house of representatives ways and means 
  1.15  committee. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE AND APPLICATION.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment 
  1.18  and applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, 
  1.19  Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
