A bill for an act
 relating to education; requiring a minimum time for school lunch; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 124D.111, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 124D.111, is amended by adding
a subdivision to read:

new text begin A participant in the national school lunch program must
schedule a minimum of 15 minutes for a child to eat lunch after receiving the meal. The
minimum time to eat lunch does not include transition time to and from the cafeteria or
other place where lunch is served, waiting in a food service line, selecting the meal, returning
trays, or recess.
