A bill for an act
relating to the Metropolitan Council; prohibiting certain promotional signs and
activities; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 473.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

The council must not advertise or use as a slogan that a particular
activity is a service of the council. The council may indicate that a particular activity is paid
for with tax dollars.

The council may not use public money to:

(1) seek public support for more spending by, greater authority for, or larger
appropriations to the council; or
new text end
new text begin
(2) assert to the public that there will be a reduction in service resulting from proposed
legislative action, with the purpose of asking members of the public to oppose those actions.

This section applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota,
Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
