A bill for an act
relating to state government; exempting the state and its political subdivisions
from daylight saving time; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 1.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

(a) Pursuant to United States Code, title 15, section 260a, the state of Minnesota
exempts itself and all of its political subdivisions from the observation of advanced time,
also known as daylight saving time, between 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March
and 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday in November in each calendar year. The state and its
political subdivisions shall observe the standard time established by United States Code,
title 15, sections 261 to 264, that is otherwise applicable during this time period.

(b) This section shall not be construed to affect the standard time established by
United States law governing the movements of common carriers engaged in interstate
commerce or the time for performance of an act by an officer or department of the United
States, as established by statute, order, rule, or regulation of the United States or an agency
of the federal government.
