A bill for an act
 relating to the State Building Code; amending the State Building Code to require
electric vehicle charging infrastructure in all new residential buildings that provide
on-site parking facilities; amending Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section
326B.106, subdivision 16.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 326B.106, subdivision 16, is
amended to read:


Subd. 16.

Electric vehicle charging.

The code shall require a minimum number of
electric vehicle ready spaces, electric vehicle capable spaces, and electric vehicle charging
stations either within or adjacent to new commercial and multifamily structuresnew text begin and all new
