A bill for an act
relating to higher education; appropriating money to the Board of Regents of the
University of Minnesota to support the health training restoration initiative.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA HEALTH
TRAINING RESTORATION INITIATIVE.

new text begin The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the Board of
Regents of the University of Minnesota:

new text begin (1) $9,500,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated for support for faculty physicians
who teach at eight residency program sites, including medical residents and student
training programs in the Department of Family Medicine;

new text begin (2) $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated for the mobile dental clinic in
which dental students provide patient care as part of their clinical education and training
under the supervision of faculty dentists.
