A bill for an act
relating to higher education; appropriating money to the Board of Regents of the
University of Minnesota to support the healthy Minnesota initiative.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA HEALTHY
MINNESOTA INITIATIVE.

new text begin The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the Board of
Regents of the University of Minnesota:

new text begin (1) $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated for support of the Community
University Health Care Clinic to focus on health professional work force development,
care coordination, and new models of care;

new text begin (2) $1,250,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated for the Rural Dental Associate
Program to lessen oral health disparities while also meeting the state's overall demand for
more dentists; and

new text begin (3) $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated for the Rural Dental Associate
Program to lessen oral health disparities while also meeting the state's overall demand for
more dentists.

clause (3) is a onetime appropriation.
