A bill for an act
relating to courts; permitting direct service of a subpoena and direct
communication about the scheduling of a victim's testimony between a victim
represented by counsel and a prosecuting attorney without obtaining consent
of the victim's attorney; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 631.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

The prosecuting attorney may subpoena a victim who is represented by counsel by
serving a subpoena directly on the victim. The prosecuting attorney or members of the
prosecuting attorney's office may have direct communication with a victim represented by
counsel about any matter pertaining to the scheduling of the victim's testimony without
obtaining the consent of the victim's attorney.
