relating to education; requiring factual and objective instruction aligned to
curriculum standards.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin FACTUAL AND OBJECTIVE INSTRUCTION FOR STUDENTS;
CRITICAL RACE THEORY.

new text begin A school district must ensure instruction for students is factual, objective, and aligned
to the kindergarten through grade 12 curriculum standards. A school district or public school
may not require instruction relating to critical race theory in required curriculum. For
purposes of this section, "critical race theory" means a practice of examining the role of
race and racism in society, the social construction of race and institutionalized racism, and
how race intersects with identity, systems, and policies.
