1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to health; allowing the commissioner of 1.3 health to issue a lifetime, limited license for the 1.4 practice of mortuary science; proposing coding for new 1.5 law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 149A. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. [149A.45] [LIFETIME, LIMITED LICENSE.] 1.8 The commissioner may issue a lifetime license for volunteer 1.9 or emergency practice to an applicant who: 1.10 (1) is a former licensee who is completely retired from the 1.11 practice of mortuary science; 1.12 (2) is age 75 or older; 1.13 (3) has no unresolved disciplinary action or complaints 1.14 pending in the state of Minnesota or any other jurisdiction; and 1.15 (4) has held a license to practice mortuary science in any 1.16 jurisdiction for at least 15 years. 1.17 The commissioner may charge an applicant a one-time fee for 1.18 licensure. The license fee must be minimal and may not exceed 1.19 the administrative costs incurred by the department of health in 1.20 issuing the license.
