A bill for an act
relating to public safety; prohibiting the sale and possession of firearms designed
to look like a mobile communications device; proposing coding for new law in
Minnesota Statutes, chapter 624.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) A person who sells or possesses a firearm that is designed to resemble and
reasonably appears to be a cellular phone is guilty of a misdemeanor.

new text begin (b) For purposes of this section, "firearm" means any weapon that is designed to or
may readily be converted to expel any projectile by the action of an explosive.
