A bill for an act
relating to transportation; appropriating money for intersection improvements on
marked U.S. Highway 169 in the cities of Brooklyn Park and Champlin; authorizing
the sale and issuance of state bonds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

IMPROVEMENTS; APPROPRIATION AND BOND SALE AUTHORIZATION.

new text begin $10,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
account in the state transportation fund to the commissioner of transportation for one or
more grants to the city of Brooklyn Park, the city of Champlin, or both for environmental
documentation, preliminary engineering, right-of-way acquisition, final design, and
construction of local road portions of planned intersection improvements at 109th Avenue
North and marked U.S. Highway 169 and the associated frontage roads, backage roads,
connecting local streets, and any associated water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater
infrastructure improvements necessary or required for the construction of the local road
improvements portion of the project. This appropriation does not require a nonstate
contribution.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
proceeds account, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds
of the state in an amount up to $10,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the
effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7, at the times and in the amounts requested by the
commissioner of transportation.
