  1.1                             A resolution
  1.2             memorializing Congress to reauthorize the wind power 
  1.3             producer credit. 
  1.4      
  1.5      WHEREAS, Minnesota is one of the leading states in wind 
  1.6   power production; and 
  1.7      WHEREAS, Minnesota has the opportunity to continue to lead 
  1.8   in the development of locally-owned wind power production 
  1.9   facilities; and 
  1.10     WHEREAS, the federal wind power producer credit was allowed 
  1.11  to expire; NOW, THEREFORE, 
  1.12     BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota 
  1.13  that it encourages Congress to support locally-owned wind power 
  1.14  production in Minnesota by reenacting the wind power producer 
  1.15  credit. 
  1.16     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of State of the 
  1.17  State of Minnesota is directed to prepare copies of this 
  1.18  memorial and transmit them to the President and the Secretary of 
  1.19  the United States Senate, the Speaker and the Clerk of the 
  1.20  United States House of Representatives, and Minnesota's Senators 
  1.21  and Representatives in Congress.
