  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; recruiting more family 
  1.3             adult foster care; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [FAMILY ADULT FOSTER CARE RECRUITING GRANTS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [GRANTS.] The commissioner of human 
  1.7   services shall make grants to counties for the purpose of 
  1.8   recruiting and establishing more family adult foster care.  The 
  1.9   commissioner shall establish a procedure for awarding these 
  1.10  grants.  
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [ELIGIBILITY.] In order for a county to be 
  1.12  eligible to receive a grant under subdivision 1, the county must 
  1.13  provide matching funds equal to the amount to be received. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.15     $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.16  commissioner of human services for the purpose of providing 
  1.17  family adult foster care recruiting grants.  This appropriation 
  1.18  shall be available until June 30, 1997, and shall not become 
  1.19  part of the base for the fiscal year 1998-1999 biennium.
