BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Appropriation. new text end

new text begin (a) $50,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund
to the commissioner of transportation for concrete pavement smoothness improvements on
trunk highways through diamond grinding.

new text begin (b) This appropriation is available in the amounts of $10,000,000 in each year for fiscal
years 2023 to 2027.

new text begin (a) A project is eligible under this section if the highway:
new text end

new text begin (1) contains concrete pavement most recently constructed or reconstructed between 1993
and 2018; and
new text end

new text begin (2) is an interstate highway or has an annual average daily traffic volume of at least
20,000 vehicles.

new text begin (b) Funds under this section are only available for concrete diamond grinding and
associated activities, including pavement striping.
