  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the city of Minneapolis; allowing bonds 
  1.3             for capital improvement projects in excess of 
  1.4             $15,000,000 without referendum. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [WATER SUPPLY PROJECTS OF MORE THAN 
  1.7   $15,000,000.] 
  1.8      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, chapter 410, or 
  1.9   Minneapolis city charter, chapter 15, section 9, the city of 
  1.10  Minneapolis and its board of estimate and taxation may issue and 
  1.11  sell bonds or incur other indebtedness for a capital improvement 
  1.12  project related to water supply that in all phases from 
  1.13  inception to completion exceeds $15,000,000 without submitting 
  1.14  the question of issuing such obligations or incurring such 
  1.15  indebtedness to the electorate for approval. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day after its final enactment.
