  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing that Minnesota state 
  1.3             colleges and universities and University of Minnesota 
  1.4             student associations shall not contract for lobbying 
  1.5             services; amending Minnesota Statutes 1995 Supplement, 
  1.6             section 136F.22, by adding a subdivision; proposing 
  1.7             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 137. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1995 Supplement, section 
  1.10  136F.22, is amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 2a.  [FEES; LOBBYISTS.] Fees collected under 
  1.12  subdivision 2 shall not be used to compensate a lobbyist as 
  1.13  defined under section 10A.01, subdivision 11. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [137.101] [STUDENT ASSOCIATION FEES.] 
  1.15     Student association fees shall not be used to compensate a 
  1.16  lobbyist as defined under section 10A.01, subdivision 11.
