  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; prohibiting trucks from 
  1.3             Hennepin county road No. 1.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TRUCK TRAFFIC RESTRICTION.] 
  1.6      (a) No person may operate a truck, as defined in Minnesota 
  1.7   Statutes, section 169.01, subdivision 49, with a registered 
  1.8   gross weight of 9,000 pounds or more, in the city of Eden 
  1.9   Prairie on Hennepin county highway No. 1 from its intersection 
  1.10  with marked trunk highway No. 169 to its intersection with 
  1.11  Flying Cloud Drive, except for: 
  1.12     (1) a highway maintenance vehicle of the county; 
  1.13     (2) a utility vehicle while engaged in utility work; or 
  1.14     (3) a truck making a delivery to or a pick up at a location 
  1.15  on that section of Hennepin county highway No. 1, if the truck 
  1.16  follows the most direct route to that location. 
  1.17     (b) Violation of this section is a petty misdemeanor. 
  1.18     (c) Hennepin county shall erect appropriate signs 
  1.19  identifying that portion of the highway to which this section 
  1.20  applies. 
  1.21     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.22     Section 1 is effective August 1, 2000.
