  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; limiting the number of 
  1.3             absent days reimbursed under child care assistance; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 119B.13, by 
  1.5             adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 119B.13, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 7.  [ABSENT DAYS.] Notwithstanding subdivision 1, 
  1.10  child care providers may not be reimbursed for more than 25 
  1.11  absent days per child in a 12-month period or for more than ten 
  1.12  consecutive absent days, unless the child has a documented 
  1.13  medical condition that causes more frequent absences.  
  1.14  Documentation of medical conditions must be on the forms and 
  1.15  submitted according to the timelines established by the 
  1.16  commissioner. 
  1.17     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective July 1, 2004.
