new text begin Funds appropriated in this section are to provide services and resources to
kindergarten through grade 12 media centers in the nine south central counties served by
the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative regional and multitype library system. The
funds appropriated in this section may be used to hire certified kindergarten through grade
12 librarians and cover associated administrative and travel costs in order to provide
tools and instruction to students and school staff to enhance and support the learning
process in districts that do not currently have librarians or paraprofessionals in their
district media centers. The funds appropriated in this section may also be used, as time
allows, to support collaboration between the librarians hired under this pilot project and
school districts that have one certified kindergarten through grade 12 school librarian and
library paraprofessional.
