  1.2             relating to human services; providing a rate 
  1.3             adjustment for certain programs; establishing 
  1.4             legislative intent; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [FISCAL YEAR 1999 PROVIDER RATE INCREASE.] 
  1.7      (a) Effective for services rendered on or after July 1, 
  1.8   1998, the commissioner of human services shall increase 
  1.9   reimbursement or allocation rates by ... percent, and county 
  1.10  boards shall adjust provider contracts as needed, for hospital 
  1.11  services under Minnesota Statutes, section 256.969; nursing 
  1.12  facility services under Minnesota Statutes, sections 256B.431 
  1.13  and 256B.434; intermediate care facility services for persons 
  1.14  with mental retardation under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.15  256B.501; home and community-based waiver services for persons 
  1.16  with mental retardation or related conditions under Minnesota 
  1.17  Statutes, section 256B.501; home and community-based waiver 
  1.18  services for the elderly under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.19  256B.0915; waivered services under community alternatives for 
  1.20  disabled individuals under Minnesota Statutes, section 256B.49; 
  1.21  community alternative care waivered services under Minnesota 
  1.22  Statutes, section 256B.49; traumatic brain injury waivered 
  1.23  services under Minnesota Statutes, section 256B.49; nursing

  2.20  9535.1700 to 9535.1760; and semi-independent living services 
  2.21  under Minnesota Statutes, section 252.275, including SILS 
  2.22  funding under county social services grants formerly funded 
  2.23  under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 256I.  
  2.24     (b) The commissioner shall increase prepaid medical 
  2.25  assistance program capitation rates as appropriate to reflect 
  2.26  the rate increases in this section.  
  2.27     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  2.28     $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  2.29  commissioner of human services for the fiscal year beginning 
  2.30  July 1, 1998, for the purposes of section 1.
