  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for the 
  1.3             repair and renovation of the Island Lake elementary 
  1.4             school. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [ISLAND LAKE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      (a) $250,000 is appropriated from the general fund in 
  1.8   fiscal year 1998 to the department of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for a grant to independent school district No. 621, 
  1.10  Mounds View, for unreimbursed expenses associated with the 
  1.11  indoor air quality problems in the portable classrooms located 
  1.12  on the site of the Island Lake elementary school. 
  1.13     (b) The appropriation in this section is not subject to the 
  1.14  review provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 16B.335, 
  1.15  subdivision 1. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
