  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to higher education; providing additional 
  1.3             tuition revenue to Minnesota state colleges and 
  1.4             universities to freeze tuition rates; appropriating 
  1.5             money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $....... is appropriated from the general fund for fiscal 
  1.9   year 2001 to the board of trustees of the Minnesota state 
  1.10  colleges and universities.  The board of trustees must use the 
  1.11  money to offset tuition revenue so that tuition rates in the 
  1.12  fall 2000 and spring 2001 terms are the same as the tuition 
  1.13  rates for the spring 2000 term.
