  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to highways; directing the commissioner of 
  1.3             transportation to construct an overpass over marked 
  1.4             trunk highway No. 36 in North St. Paul; providing for 
  1.5             apportionment of costs. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [TRUNK HIGHWAY NO. 36 OVERPASS.] 
  1.8      The commissioner of transportation shall include in the 
  1.9   commissioner's trunk highway work plan for the fiscal year 
  1.10  ending June 30, 1998, the construction of a pedestrian and 
  1.11  bicycle overpass over marked trunk highway No. 36 in the city of 
  1.12  North St. Paul, to be located between the highway's 
  1.13  intersections with Margaret Street and First Street.  From funds 
  1.14  appropriated from the trunk highway fund for state road 
  1.15  construction in fiscal year 1998, the commissioner shall pay 
  1.16  that portion of the cost, as determined by the metropolitan 
  1.17  council, of the project that is not paid by a grant to the city 
  1.18  from the council.
