  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crimes; modifying the definition of a 
  1.3             video game of chance; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             1994, section 609.75, subdivision 8. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 609.75, 
  1.7   subdivision 8, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 8.  [VIDEO GAME OF CHANCE.] A video game of chance is 
  1.9   a game or device that simulates one or more games commonly 
  1.10  referred to as poker, blackjack, craps, hi-lo, roulette, or 
  1.11  other common gambling forms, though not offering any type of and 
  1.12  that offers a pecuniary award or gain to players.  The term also 
  1.13  includes any video game having one or more of the following 
  1.14  characteristics: 
  1.15     (1) it is primarily a game of chance, and has no 
  1.16  substantial elements of skill involved; 
  1.17     (2) it awards game credits or replays and contains a meter 
  1.18  or device that records unplayed credits or replays.
