  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for a grant 
  1.3             to the Minnesota Council on Economic Education. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [MINNESOTA COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION.] 
  1.6      $275,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 1999 from the 
  1.7   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.8   learning for a grant to the Minnesota Council on Economic 
  1.9   Education to provide staff development to teachers for the 
  1.10  implementation of the state graduation standards in learning 
  1.11  areas relating to economic education.  The commissioner and the 
  1.12  council must develop the expected results of the staff 
  1.13  development, the eligible participants, the evaluation plan, and 
  1.14  the amount of direct and in-kind contributions of the council.
