  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to motor vehicles; allowing deputy motor 
  1.3             vehicle registrars to accept credit and debit card 
  1.4             payment of motor vehicle taxes and fees; amending 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 168.33, by adding a 
  1.6             subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 168.33, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 10.  [ACCEPTANCE OF CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS.] 
  1.11  Notwithstanding any law or rule to the contrary, a deputy 
  1.12  registrar may accept payment of fees and taxes due to the state 
  1.13  by credit or debit card.
