relating to economic development; appropriating money for the pathways to
prosperity career pathways grant program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; CAREER PATHWAYS GRANT PROGRAM.

new text begin $....... is appropriated in fiscal year 2017 from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for the pathways to prosperity career pathways
competitive grant program. Of this amount, up to five percent is for administration and
monitoring of the program. The commissioner may develop a process to allow for simpler
awarding of grants to previous grantees contingent on the grantees' ability to demonstrate
employer demand and successful program results.
