A bill for an act
relating to education; requiring K-12 supervisory personnel and support staff
annually to provide at least four hours of direct classroom instruction in a subject
matter area in which they are qualified; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004,
section 122A.15, by adding a subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 122A.15, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

Notwithstanding
other law to the contrary, and as a condition of maintaining and renewing their license,
all supervisory personnel and support staff under this section who do not provide daily
direct classroom instruction annually must provide at least four hours of direct classroom
instruction throughout the school year in a subject matter area in which they are qualified
and competent.
